You can sync your desktop library with your Mendeley Web library. This ensure that you can access to your Mendeley online from other computers. Syncing is also a way to back up your desktop library to your online library in the cloud.
To check whether the synch process is working correctly, add a document to your Mendeley desktop library. Press the synch button and wait for the document to synch. Log in to your Mendeley Web account and check whether the document has been added to your online library.
You can uncheck the synchronize attached files box. Be aware though that you will need to apply this change by clicking Save and Synch. Doing this will remove existing PDF's from your Mendeley Web. You can check the same box again later to reload them from your desktop Mendeley to Mendeley Web, but if you have large numbers of PDF's/attachments, then this process may be very time consuming.
On March 15 2021, the Mendeley mobile app was removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play, leaving access via the web site or Mendeley Reference Manager on the desktop the only way to access the services.[21] The literature search function in the desktop application had also been removed.

An important notice about account creation. Following Elsevier's acquisition of Mendeley, Mendeley has been integrated into the Elsevier account ecosystem. One option Elsevier provides is authentication via CAS/netID credentials. If you want to use Mendeley Desktop, do not create an account using Shibboleth or an institutional account (their wording) at this time. As of December 2018, the desktop (non-web) version of the software does not support institutional account logins.

Mozilla FirefoxClick the Menu button at the top right and click 'Options'. Mendeley is a free citation manager available from mendeley.com. Please note that you do not need to choose an institutional login; the software is free and Virginia Tech does not have an institutional license. It exists in both a desktop version and an online version. What makes Mendeley unique is that it's also a social network for academics. In addition, Mendeley suggests new citations to you based on what's in your library already. It also allows you the chance to share your library with others as well as annotate PDFs.

Both Mendeley Desktop and Mendeley Reference Manager are available for use on desktop computers. Desktop is older, though it has more options. Reference Manager is newer and is virtually identical to Mendeley on the web.

I am using Mendeley to manage my citations. Previously I imported directly to Overleaf using the Mendeley API, however, this doesn't allow the degree of customisation I would like so I have started using the desktop version.
This problem appears to have occurred in the last few weeks, as previously I did not notice the issue.I have already had to change all my references from the api citation key style to the desktop citation key style, and do not want to have to keep adding citation keys if they disappear. What is happening and how can I get Mendeley to fill in the missing citations

Sync your citations to Mendeley by clicking the \"Sync\" icon in the desktop application or the mobile app. You cannot sync in the web-based Mendeley library, but the library will pull the information synced from the desktop or mobile app. For example, you can add citations from the lab computers to your Mendeley library using the Chrome extension or the web importer, and then you can sync your mobile app to keep reading after you leave. If you make any changes on the mobile app, just sync again so the changes are reflected on another version of Mendeley.
Mendeley can easily import, organize, and add extra content to your PDFs on the desktop version. Mendeley has tools to annotate and highlight PDFs, to add research notes, and to attach additional PDFs and images to your citations.
I have been using Mendeley for a very long time now. I use it for organizing and reading articles. I just noticed that it keeps removing files randomly from the folders and groups. I don't know the exact reason for this. I wonder if there is an alternative to the Mendeley desktop client for Windows. 59ce067264
